Can minors receive vaccinations in Tennessee without parental consent?

No. Per the 2023 TN Mature Minor Doctrine Clarification Act, a doctor or healthcare provider must obtain and record informed consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian before vaccinating a minor. A minor is defined as someone under 18 years of age, unless emancipated, or current/past member of U.S. armed services, reserve, or national guard, or parent of a minor child with full custody, or is in need of life-threatening emergency healthcare pursuant to § 63-6-222.
