From Shot@Life:

The Problem: During the COVID-19 pandemic, 67 million children missed out on lifesaving routine vaccines. This is the largest decline in nearly 30 years, and many of these children have not been reached through catch-up campaigns. Although global immunization services rebounded slightly in 2022, approximately 20.5 children still missed at least one vaccine.  Of these, 14.3 million are “zero dose” kids, who did not receive a single dose of basic vaccines.

The Solution: Increasing access to vaccines and resources! We must protect progress made with immunizations, strengthen health systems, and ensure people everywhere have access to lifesaving vaccines for diseases like polio, measles, pneumonia, rotavirus, and COVID-19.

How You Can HelpIf you think it's wrong that millions do not have access to lifesaving vaccines, act now. Fill in your information below to tell your members of Congress you support global vaccination efforts and understand the vital role the U.S. plays in the lives of children around the world.

The Numbers: Global health spending is just a fraction of one percent of the federal budget, but it helps save millions of lives around the world. As the appropriations process begins for Fiscal Year 2025, ask your members of Congress to support funding at the following levels:

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance - $340 m
UNICEF - $175 m
CDC global polio eradication programs - $276 m
CDC measles elimination activities - $80 m
USAID polio eradication efforts - $165 m
WHO (assessed contributions) - $126.2 m
